Between August 22 and 25, 2023, part of the team working on the project “Creation of a center for integrated social and health services at one stop in the Stolipinovo district” made a working visit to the city of Oslo, Norway. The visit is part of the activities related to the exchange of good practices with the Norwegian NGO Norsensus Mediaforum – a partner of the Plovdiv Municipality on the project.
Norsensus Mediaforum is an organization established in 2012 and working in the field of digital and media literacy. The organization has experience with ERASMUS+ projects as well as capacity building projects under EEA Grants.
Project manager, coordinator, manager of the center, music pedagogue and social worker took part in a two-day training, during which they got acquainted with the philosophy and the way to build makerspaces. The team had the opportunity to visit the Metropolitan University and “Deichmann Björvika” library in the city of Oslo, where there are dedicated creative spaces equipped with computers, 3D printers, laser cutting machines, sewing machines, a lathe, various tools and appliances, providing opportunities and conditions to acquire knowledge, skills and competences with a practical orientation.
Makerspaces are places of discovery that provide young people with the support they need to become digitally literate. The spaces encourage students to realize their own projects and demonstrate their talents.
Within the framework of the project, in one of the halls of the Center for integrated social and health services at one stop in Stolipinovo quarter, it is planned to build a Makerspace, where children and young people will have the opportunity to experiment with their possibilities, to develop innovative thinking, effective communication, productive teamwork, generating multiple ideas, reasoned decision making and problem solving.
