Mitko is one of the people who received support within the project “Creation of a center for integrated social and health services at one stop in Stolipinovo district”. During a tour of the Stolipinovo quarter, social workers from the center’s team saw a frozen man sleeping on the street.
In a conversation with him, it becomes clear that during a fire in the house he lives in, he burned both his hands, as a result of which 8 of his 10 fingers were amputated. Mitko is left without a roof, job, money, abandoned by his family. Telling his story, he does not hide his tears and disappointment, he says that he wants to work and find a place to live, he has unpaid health insurance, he cannot appear before a commission before TELC.
With the help of the team from the center and the support opportunities provided by the project, Mitko’s life will take a new direction – after mediation for the submission of documents for one-time assistance, he will have the opportunity to pay off his health insurance and appear before TELK.
The necessary medicines for his treatment have been purchased, he receives a daily hot meal as part of one of the project’s auxiliary activities, and he is waiting to receive shelter.
To be continued …
